About

Our blog is a hub for news, analysis and debate written by, and for, development and humanitarian professionals around the globe. While often our posts are written by Oxfam staff, the content covers a wide range of material including personal reflections and opinions of individuals, analyses or summaries of issues, and contributions from other organisations. Views and Voices, therefore, is not intended as a comprehensive statement of Oxfam’s agreed policies.

Policy & Practice

Sharing Oxfam’s policy, practice and research

Views and Voices is part of the Oxfam Policy and Practice site.

Oxfam is a leading international NGO with a worldwide reputation for excellence in the delivery of aid and development work. Our purpose is to work with others to overcome poverty and suffering. Through Policy & Practice we aim to share Oxfam’s policy, research and programme learning to inform best practice and contribute to debate in the humanitarian and development sector. We offer free access to over 4,000 publications – training manuals, research reports and policy briefs – based on our 70 years in the field, as well as programme overviews, staff profiles and this blog.

About Oxfam

Oxfam is a global movement of millions of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn’t inevitable. In just 15 years, extreme poverty has been halved. 15 more years and we can end it for good.

To spread that change and make it last, political solutions are also needed to tackle the root causes of poverty and create societies where empowered individuals can thrive.

We will always act, we will speak out, and we won’t live with poverty.
